Radon Mitigation in Plainwell, MI 49080

Why they needed a radon mitigation system: The homeowner discovered elevated radon levels during a routine inspection and was concerned about the potential health risks associated with radon exposure, particularly the long-term effects on their family’s well-being.

Why the customer chose the company: They selected ALS Radon & Environmental because of the company’s strong reputation for delivering reliable radon mitigation solutions and its history of excellent service in Michigan.

What's causing the problem: The elevated radon levels were the result of radon gas seeping into the home through natural cracks and gaps in the foundation, which is common in this area.

How We Fixed the Problem (Mitigation Process):

  • Conducted a thorough inspection to confirm radon levels and identify entry points.
  • Installed a radon mitigation system with strategically placed piping in the garage.
  • Set up a powerful radon fan in the attic to vent radon gas efficiently.
  • Integrated a manometer to monitor the system’s pressure and ensure consistent performance.
  • Maintained communication with the homeowner to ensure they were informed throughout the process.

What's unique about this situation: The garage-to-attic configuration required precise planning to ensure the system’s components were effectively installed without disrupting the home’s structure or daily activities. Despite the challenge of working across multiple levels, our team integrated the mitigation system seamlessly into the home’s layout.

Radon Mitigation System Installation in Richland, MI

Scott called ALS Property Associates, Inc. after getting an elevated radon test in his home. He was worried and wanted to get the levels as low as possible. ALS provided free visual inspections with a full proposal and had really good online reviews.

Doug Smith with ALS Property Associates, Inc. showed up on schedule to complete the full inspection. He looked over the entire house and worked with Scott to design a system that would good and significantly lower the radon levels.

The ALS Property Associates team later showed up to complete the radon mitigation. They installed a radon extraction point in the basement in the utility room. This was out of site from the finished areas of the basement. They then piped up to an exterior fan on the non-visible side of the home using schedule 40 PVC. The ended up using a Festa Eagle Radon Fan. This was not the original fan the team was going to use, but the soil under the slab was very tight so they had to proceed with a fan that had more suction. The crew did a great job and cleaned up the workspace as if they were never there.

Scott is extremely happy with his new radon reduction system. It has drastically lowered the radon levels and looks good.
